GAP ROCK

Casper Turner 14

Gap Rock is a large rock near Cootes Store. It is just inside of the noted Brocks Gap from which it got its name.

This huge rock is about one hundred and fifty feet high and overlooks the north branch of the Shenandoah river which flows by it.

This rock is so steep that it is almost impossible for anyone to climb to its summit, although thousands of people visit it annually to get a view of its magnificent scenery.
