THE RIVER

George F. Turner 14

The north branch of the Shenandoah River is the largest river in Rockingham County. It rises near the top of the Shenandoah mountain, which is the dividing line between Virginia and West Virginia.

This river flows northeast through the county receiving many small streams as it winds its way through the valley. This small branch flows into the main Shenandoah River.

Both Rivers flow into the Potomac river near Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.
