SETTING RABBIT TRAPS

Ralph G. Runion 13

I begin to set my rabbit traps about the first of December and continue to set them till after Christmas. I bait the traps with apples or cabbage and sometimes with both.

I eat the rabbits, which I catch until the merchants begin to buy them, then I sell them.

On Christmas morning, I went to look at my rabbit traps, but instead of finding a rabbit in my trap, to my great surprise I found I had caught a large opossum. I of course killed him and sold his hide which brought me seventy five cents.
