deed
This Indenture made the 16th day
of August 1843 between Saml Cootes of the County………..ingham
and State of Virginia of the one part and Jacob Bare of the County and
state………..Dollars to be paid in the following manner to wit one
hundred dollars………dollars on the 1st………….April
1864 and…………February 1845 for which several sum the……….whereof
is hereby acknowledged hath granted ba…………bargain and sell to the
said Jacob Bear and his heirs……….of land near and north of
the Town of Harrisonburg in the Count………..taining by estimate three
acres and thirty seven poles be the same………….follows to wit
Beginning at a stake corner of ? Street and Federal……….Federal Alley
N9 ½ E32 poles to a stake corner of Warner’s and Sprinkel’s…….26
poles to a stake west side of the stage road and thence with said road……..thereof
S27 W17 poles and 10 links to a stake a corner & thence N80 W11 poles………….ning
being the lot conveyed by Reuben Harrison and wife to John Morris on……..1823
and by said Morris and wife to said Cootes on the 30th
day of August….. …be soon ly a reference to the records of the County
Court of Rockingham together………singular the appurtenances thereunto
belonging or any wise appertaining to have and to hold………. tract or
parcel of land with its appurtenances unto the said Jacob Bear and
his heirs as……….wen to the only proper use and behoof of him the
said Jacob Bear and his heirs and assigns the said Saml Cootes
for himself his heirs execs………… |
