This Indenture made this 16th
day of August 1843 between Saml Cootes of the county of Rockingham
and State of Virginia of the one part and Jacob Neff of the County
and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Saml Cootes
and in consideration of the sum of one Dollar to him in hand paid by the
said Jacob Neff the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath
granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and
sell to the said Jacob Neff his heirs and assigns forever a certain
tract or parcel of land by lying and adjoining Turley Town on
Brocks Creek and bound as follows Beginning at sycamore stump on the East
side of the Creek at letter A.N70W2 poles crossing the creek to a stake on
the west side of the creek at B. S15 ½ W8 poles to......walnut on the
west side at C S36W23 poles to an apple tree at D N42W18 poles to near a
large apple tree at E N72 ½ E4 poles and 7 links to a walnut down at F
N24 E15 poles to a walnut on the west side of the meadow ditch as G N21
E20................les to a stake Houdeshells corner at H S6 E23 poles and
17 links to a stake in........thence S32W12 poles and 15 links to the
beginning containing 4 ¾ acres.........less also a stxxx and lot of
ground supposed to be 2 acres in Turly..........East side of the Street on
big road passing through Turly Town.......by said Neff and
the land purchased by
Moffett......................................................................Moore
and running from the road on..................................singular the
appurtenances thereunto belonging............ |
